Region X includes Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. In 2013, FEMA gave a $4.6 million grant to Oregon for staffing for adequate fire and emergency response. The Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants Program was created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase the number of trained, front-line firefighters available in their communities.
